While I don’t align myself with either political party, normally I would be considered more Democrat than Republican. But times like this are exactly why I refuse to be labeled, when a party almost loses their mind over something that seems very cut and dry to me. I’m talking about the Susan G Komen fiasco.
If you haven’t heard, the SGK foundation has decided that they are not going to issue any new grants to Planned Parenthood. They claim it is due to a congressional investigation into PP, but it’s basically assumed that it is because SGK isn’t happy with PP having a hand in referring patients for abortions - so they simply decided to cut them off, since they can’t be sure that their money isn’t going to that, rather than the cancer screenings that it is intended for.
These are the words and phrases that are being tossed around now: “Outraged!” “They should be ashamed!” “Disgraceful!” “Shocking!” “Unbelievable!” “The mask has been ripped off of the face of this organization!”

I’ll go ahead and say it, just for full disclosure… I am pro-life. And feeling that way myself, I have no problem with any organization deciding that they’d rather not GIVE their money to another entity if they believe that entity might be furthering the practice of providing abortions.
The uproar that a majority of the left-leaning media outlets are displaying right now would be laughable if it wasn’t so sad. I might be wrong - but doesn’t it make sense that if someone doesn’t want to donate money to someone else, for whatever reason - that’s just the way it is, they don’t have to give a reason, and everyone else is just gonna have to suck it up?
You offer a baby a pacifier, the baby takes the pacifier, and then if you take the pacifier away from that baby… that baby is gonna start crying. That’s pretty much what I’m seeing from the left in this situation. But these are grown men and women that are bitching, shouting, boycotting, crying, judging, etc.
How about just showing appreciation for all the help that the SGK foundation did give to PP over the past many years? Nope. Apparently none of that matters anymore, because they took the pacifier away from the baby.
This just really feels like the “entitlement mentality” that you sometimes see out of the poor or some members of the left… I’ve just never seen it so proudly shouted about by so many people in the national news media.
I mean, I know some people just like that - they love you while you are giving them something or doing something for them, but as soon as you stop - you are the enemy.
