January 23, 2012 — Game Stash

Started off the day by waking up and making a bunch of calls about my worker’s comp claim.  They’ve got a preferred pharmacy that they’ve had me using for a while, but I’ve been having problems with them regularly screwing up my prescriptions    I ended up speaking to a few different people that not only couldn’t help me, but also didn’t even really understand what I was telling them, so that was basically a complete waste of an hour of my life.

I left messages for the people that I couldn’t actually speak with, so maybe tomorrow I’ll be getting some return calls and some answers.  I just want to get authorized to switch away from their half-assed pharmacy service.  If that doesn’t work, I guess I’ll have to go through my attorney again.  Yay.

My day got better though when I went to visit one of my friends that does some auction hunting in his spare time.  He knows that I’m into old videogame stuff, and realized that over the past months he’s ended up with quite a bit.  That’s definitely not his thing, so he asked if I’d wanna come over and help him price all of it for when the flea market opens up in the spring.

It was an impressive stash, considering that it was stuff that he just “ended up with” when buying storage lockers and box lots.  Atari, NES, SNES, Dreamcast, Genesis, etc…  all the way up to PS2 and XBOX.    But the best part…  for helping him out with the pricing, he gave me all of the Atari stuff.

A couple systems, some joysticks, and a couple boxes of loose games.  I haven’t had a chance to inventory them yet, but there’s gotta be at least 50 cartridges - and I know at least a few of them are relatively rare.    I didn’t feel right with him just giving it all to me, so I offered him some cash but he declined.  He just said he might call me to price more gamestuffs if he gets any in.
