I woke up in the middle of the night after only a couple hours worth of sleep, so of course I fell back asleep for a bit in the afternoon - and will now most likely be up most of the night.
Oh well… no schedule, no worries.
Started work on one of the bedrooms that I’ve been using to stage my crap (as I found locations for it throughout the house) but luckily it has been going pretty quickly. It was mostly just misc electronics extras… power strips, extension cables, audio and video cables, connectors, power supplies, etc. It was really just a matter of me getting into that room to get started on it.
Also amongst the stuff was some of Cassi’s artwork and drawings that she had made for me.
I had set them aside until I could put them into some protective folders, so it was kind of a bummer getting that stuff packed up and put away in one of my keepsake tubs downstairs.
That sure is the hardest thing about people breaking up on decent terms. It’d be a lot easier to “not care anymore” if you were pissed at them…. heh… but now those will be something that I look at with both sadness and a smile.
But anyway…
I’m so happy with the progress I’ve been making on this old place over the past couple of weeks. You know how it is when you move into a new place. It takes a while until it really feels like home, especially if you are used to it feeling like someone else’s home. I’ve made enough progress that at least half of the time this feels like “my place” now. And I’m sure as I keep working, it’ll continue feeling more and more that way.
Now that we’ve had a couple snowfalls, I can tell you right now that I’m ready for winter to go away.
I’ve been trying to eat healthier, as well as at least go for walks around the neighborhood every few days or so, but the cold weather sure puts a cramp in my style when it comes to that.
I’m definitely looking forward to spring. I guess it’s just a bit of cabin fever, but it’ll be nice to not only be able to regularly walk or jog around the area here, but also to get out and just do things, shoot pictures, hang out with friends… all of which are so much better when the weather is nice.
I’ve probably just doomed us to 3 more months of bitter cold and snow.
