Went into town for some pop and bread but as usual, I came home with quite a bit more.    At Walmart I picked up several throw rugs that were on clearance for five bucks.  Now, this house isn’t lacking for rugs…  heh…  but I want this house to have my rugs, not the old ones that have been here forever. 

Several days ago Matt told me about a cheap “fire pit” that he saw at Dick’s Sporting Goods, but today was the first chance I had to check it out.  For once my procrastination paid off because the $30 fire pit was still there - except now it was actually marked down 50% on clearance.    Mine.

And then my final stop before heading home was at the thrift store on the south side of town.  I was looking for a coffee table for use in the basement near the fireplace, but rather than a regular coffee table I think I found something better.  I’m guessing it was some sort of store display, but basically it is a big ol’ mirrored table that will serve as the table in front of the couch down there.

It is so big I had to ask some stranger to help me load it in the car…  and now that I’m home, the furthest that I’ve been able to move it is out of the car and into the garage, right next to the car.    I guess I’ll have to wait until I have some company before I can move it downstairs and start refinishing it.  Actually, that’s too fancy of a word.  (‘cuz I’m gonna use spray paint heh)
