December 31, 2010 -- Summer?
I woke up today feeling like I had slept through all of the winter months and somehow arrived at a warm spring day. Isn’t the weather today awesome? You know me and my windows… heh… any excuse to raise the storm windows and let some fresh air and light into the house and I’m on it.
You’d never guess it was the last day of December. Just this bit of sunshine...

December 30, 2010 -- Coupons
Cassi and I were watching Extreme Couponing last night. It was an hour-long show on TLC about people that use coupons to take their $900 shopping bills down to like $2.38 after all their discounts.
These people had shelves and shelves full of crap that they got for free with their coupons… hundreds of boxes of pasta, hundreds of jars of sauce, a wall stacked to the ceiling with toilet...

December 30, 2010 -- Snatched
Another thing happened that reaffirms my dislike for the humans.
After I had finished most of the shopping for Cassi’s Christmas presents, I decided that I wanted to get her one more thing… something a little unique. So I got on Walgreens’ site and uploaded some pictures and created a calendar.
With the processing and shipping time, I wasn’t sure that it was going to...

December 29, 2010 -- Meh
The past couple days have been kinda messed up. I’ve been babysitting my aunt’s car while she was in the hospital, but now she was ready for me to bring it back to her at home. But something is wrong with the car, even after thousands of dollars spent repairing it a few weeks ago, and it just wouldn’t run.
It would start, rev really high, then stall… you could play...

December 27, 2010 -- Tron Legacy
** SPOILERS **
Cassi and I went to see Tron the other day at the mall. We were hoping to wait for a time when Matt and Toni could go with us, but Matt’s schedule was just too busy during the holiday season - and I couldn’t wait any longer to go see it.
I didn’t realize until now that our local theater has one screen that they can show 3D movies on, so luckily not only did we...

December 26, 2010 -- Merry Christmas?
Do you have anyone in your family that just doesn’t fit the mold? People that are so defective that it’s hard to believe that they can actually be blood relatives? I know I sure do. You’d think that around Christmas, even those types of people would be able to “fake” being kind and normal for a few days, but that’d be asking too much.
It started several...

December 25, 2010 -- Christmas
We had a really good Christmas day. Woke up early, but not too early, to open our presents. I got Tron stuff, Transformers stuff, smelly good stuff, a new leather wallet, etc… all goodies that I wanted but probably wouldn’t have spent money on myself. Cassi was happy with all her stuff too… a nice selection of makeup, hair stuff, lotions, clothes, and some random goofy...

December 23, 2010 -- Visitor
Genesee came to town for a visit with her friends, family, and ex-family (mine) a couple days ago. While she was in town she also stopped by here for a visit with me and Cassi. I’m glad that I’ve got a girlfriend that doesn’t turn stupid over things like this, unlike last year. But she came over with her puppy and we all talked for about an hour, I got to check out her new...

December 18, 2010 -- Toys
With all of the Christmas shopping I’ve been doing for others, of course I had to look around for a few things for myself. I’d been watching this little photo scanner on eBay for a while now, and I decided that I should go ahead and get it - so when I transfer my photos from the old albums to the new ones, I can also scan a them into the computer easily. It’s better than a...

December 18, 2010 -- Released
They’ve approved Aunt C to go home today. It is actually sooner than I expected to happen, but like I told her… if she gets to the point where she can get around at lease as good as she did before her hip surgery, they couldn’t very well tell her she wasn’t good enough to get on at home by herself.
She’ll continue with physical therapy a few times a week after...

December 15, 2010 -- Feeling Better
Whatever was bothering my throat has moved into my ear, and that’s fine by me. I’d much rather be irritated by my ear now and then, rather than cringing in pain every time I swallow. I’m just hoping after it does whatever it wants to do in my ear, that it will go away rather than returning to my throat.
(See, who needs doctors? )
I’ve visited with Aunt C in the...

December 14, 2010 -- Fifty Cents
Every year, for as long as I can remember, I had a little gold-tone bell that would play somewhat annoying Christmas music. In a matter of about five minutes, it would cram in what seemed like a couple dozen abbreviated Christmas tunes. But this year I wasn’t able to find it in my boxes of Christmas crap.
But luckily, while at the thrift store the other day, I found the same bell that I...

December 11, 2010 -- Sick. Again.
This is getting ridiculous. I didn’t used to get sick much at all, but over the past few months I’ve sure made up for that.
Today I’ve been dealing with some sort of ear and throat thing… feels like someone is jamming a key into my neck every time I swallow. Every damn time.
So I’m just staying in bed, Cassi is doing her best to keep me feeling as good as...

December 10, 2010 -- Birthday Trip
We went to the Grand Victoria for my birthday a few days ago. Dad didn’t go this time, but between him and Mom they arranged for it to be an all expenses paid trip. We got the room and food comped as usual, but this time they gave us one of the suites instead of the regular rooms we usually get.
Talk about feeling spoiled. It had a little dining area, a living room, a huge bedroom,...

December 02, 2010 -- Busy
This week has been another busy one. Lots of appointments for Cassi and me, not to mention the random Christmas shopping, visits to thrift stores, and then visiting with Aunt C in the hospital as she recovers from her recent hip replacement surgery.
She’s doing surprisingly well… I mean, at least I am surprised… I suppose the doctors that advised her to do it knew it would be...
